Our Hometown History is a series of documentary programs designed to highlight museums and historical destinations located throughout the Midwest and across America. The goal of this project is to highlight interesting and often forgotten stories about the evolution of our economy, technology, culture and values that are collected on the local level of our nation — sometimes so close to us that they are almost right in our backyards.
In doing so, we hope to provide insight into the many ways we are alike, shed light on the ways our values have shifted, and spur understanding that can help bridge gaps between us. And, perhaps most important, encourage us all to take note of and visit the many invaluable repositories of the history of America rooted from place to place and town to town across this great land.
